How does Hoodia work?
Learn How This Miracle Hoodia Really Works!
Hoodia Gordonii, has been used as a way to control hunger and thirst by the San Bushman of South Africa when they went on long hunting expeditions across the Kalahari desert.
This natural appetite suppressant works by making your brain think that your appetite is full. The mid-brain called the Hypothalamus is what controls your appetite. Whenever you eat, nerve cells in the brain sense glucose sugar and give you a feeling of fullness after the meal. There is a molecule P57, in Hoodia Gordonii, which is about 10,000 times as active as glucose and works on the very same nerve cells, on which glucose reacts, to give you a feeling of fullness even if you have not eaten. It also reduces your inclination to eat food.
An interesting example of how Hoddia Gordonii works was seen when the 60 minutes correspondent Leslie Stahl ate it during her trip to the Kalahari Desert in discovery of its appetite suppressing properties. She lost her desire to eat or drink for the entire day. Neither did she experience any side effect like heart palpitations or indigestion.
Weight loss is all about reducing your calorie intake. Recent studies have shown that Hoodia can reduce your calorie intake to about 30 to 50 percent. This can really be a big help for people who are obese. Obesity is associated with factors such as high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol and insulin resistance. Obesity is referred to by the metabolic Syndrome X and can lead to disability and premature death. Hoodia, being a natural appetite suppressant can be a very important nutritional factor which helps to combat Syndrome X due to its properties which help people to slim down without enduring any side effects.
